Many companies use Microsoft Exchange server. Among other things, users can access a public calendar and coordinate schedules, send appointments to other users, and access their e-mail over a built-in web-based system. Many of those companies force Linux users to also have a Windows desktop so that they can use Microsoft Outlook and thus access the Exchange server.
No more! The Ximian Connector allows the excellent mail and personal information management program, Ximian Evolution to access the Exchange server. Say goodbye to that extra computer. Ximian is hoping that the product will take off. Ximian Connector is a commercial product that they will sell for 29.95 for the Standard Edition and 49.95 for the Professional Edition. Bulk purchasing programs are also apparently available. With that money they’ll be able to fund development of some more great programs! You can read more about it here.
