There are five. Please vote for one. If the one you like could be improved by something specific, please also note that in your comments. We need to get this decided. I know this is hard since there’s not really a ‘right’ one. Remember that the new ‘bluefish’ (does he have a name?) has no yellow, so if one is chosen with the old yellow lower eyelid, I will change that. 😉

yeah I love the fifth one with punchy yellowish colors.
The others are too “soft” IMHO and the fourth is too Gnome-related.
One big problem though : the 5th does not contain the version number !!!
very hard.. I like 1, except for the bit blurred and grey logo (the logo should be more ‘outspoken’), I also like the design of 4 a lot (the most I think) except it’s so gnome-ish now, if it was possible to redo 4 without the strong gnome connection I would definately vote 4, and 5 is also nice with the bright colors.
I personally like the 5th one most. Fits best in the look-and-feel of the icons i think.
1 is the one, I’d prefer.
As mentioned by Olivier, the logo is a little vague, but if it were clearer, the fish (BTW, does it have a name?) would rather seem to be above the water. So I think it’s better this way.
My second vote is 4, too.
Not easy at all … are all so pretty.
But … number four is for me.
The second is also great with the big fish facing at you, but I’d prefer it with the blue lower eyelid.
In order of preference, 5, 1, 4
If 1 was redone with maybe some stronger colours it might look better, an idea could be to change the splash for the next few releases, working up to 1 then a new one for 1.0
Another idea for images on them, if you don’t want the gnome ones, is a sample from in bluefish itself — a toolbar or something
I like the first even if I would prefer a sharper fish. I mean I would like our loved icon to be more highlited into the water.
Second choice is numeber 3
I personally like #4 alot.. but, I wonder if we should specify “The GNOME Web Development Studio” as it’s not really ONLY for GNOME.. I run KDE and AfterStep.. It may use GNOME libraries, but, that almost makes it appear as if it’s targeted at a certain WM that it’s not really targeted at.. but, I vote for #4.. I think it looks very professional, and I think they all look totally awesome, but, #4 looks the most professional and portrays the best overall image of the application in a splash screen..
Great work Dave.. Keep it up!
Danny
I like 5 best, but as others pointed out, it should show the version number. Great work on all of them.
I like 4 the best because it indicates the type of editing supported. I like the colors and graphics of 3 the best. Actually they are all really good. The fish is so friendly and gives the feeling that this program is going to be user-friendly.
Hmm, I like 1 or 4 (four without >>gnome
I like ’em all… How about a random splash screen with each start?
4 looks nice, but it needs to drop the GNOME reference.
4 and 5 are my favorites. I agree with the others about dropping the GNOME reference on 4, and on 5, the navigation buttons aren’t strong enough images (small buttons, with weak lines for the arrows)
they’re all wonderful, but i think i’ll give my highest vote for no. 5. great job all the way, tho’!
(btw. i’m just a passing lurker…)
