One of the things I strongly (try to) adhere to is Getting Things Done (GTD), the life process defined by David Allen. On the Mac I bought a few contenders in the space- OmniFocus, Things, and Midnight Inbox. The all have pluses and minuses, but in the end that doesn’t change the fact that I need something to keep track of things that need to get done.

Some Novell guys (I think) hacked together this nice little app in their Hackweek for simply tracking of things that need to get done called Tasque. Aside from the option of storing things ‘simply’, you can integrate to the Remember the Milk online task management service (which in turn you can sync with the iPhone app they make. From what I understand, you have to pay the $20/year to use the iPhone app. It seems reasonable but don’t want to afford that right now.

Instead I wanted the third storage option- using Evolution tasks. Tasque can sync with the tasks stored in there and the idea of syncing with a central desktop repository is appealing- although it would be even better if you could sync with that and Remember the Milk.

But it didn’t work- didn’t let me add a task or anything. After searching around I found this happy tip from Massimo Tisi. For Intrepid just:

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libedataserver-1.2.so.11 /usr/lib/libedataserver-1.2.so.9

Working!
