Part of me is very pained. Ever since I got it, I’ve been running linux on my pocketpc. But that ended Saturday night. Things went horribly wrong, and the frustration level induced me to restore PocketPC 2002. I abhor Microsoft products and their use, but when it comes down to it, isn’t that because of the frustration they cause? Partially. There’s also the monopolist bent and criminal behavior. PocketPC works like a charm. For something that is such a small part of my life that I don’t want to fiddle with and that I will not fiddle with, maybe it’s ok. Plus, I tried out the Synce project. I was very impressed with how simple it was. I ran it and created a partnership with the PocketPC on the first try. The tools let you do some basic file and program management. There is another project, Multisync, that provides syncing between various programs, such as PocketPC’s and Ximian Evolution. I wasn’t able to compile the source- need to try again soon. So I’m on my way to using a Microsoft product in a way not intended, which makes me happy.
