Apple’s Mail is a very nice e-mail client that comes with Mac OS X. I used it for years and it had some really great features.
Some of its features like the stationery I’ve only used once, so I had no issues leaving that behind.

I started out in a pretty good situation- I use IMAP for all of my e-mail. So switching the client was fairly simple- just enter the login information and it got all my old mail.
In this case I also split my mail for the first time. My work mail comes to Evolution, easily one of the most robust e-mail apps ever made, but home and hobby mail comes to my Yahoo! Mail account.
