I don’t have much time for it most of the time, but I love it. I could probably spend the rest of my life making icons. I love computer graphics. Maybe because it’s so clean (and usually easy to undo things you do). I’m a cartoonist at heart. Most papers that lie on my desk for more than a couple hours quickly become doodle pads.
Typically my preferred digital tools to do illustration are vector-based, like Inkscape (which is free!). My first vector software was CorelDraw. Illustrator fits in here too although it’s so pointlessly big. Try something simpler.
